Nitro is a nitrogen generator built for the PRODEX 53 post-curing unit. It makes nitrogen from the compressed air your lab already has and fills the curing chamber automatically at the start of every nitrogen cure profile.
Why cure under nitrogen?
During light post-curing, oxygen reacts with the free radicals that drive polymerisation. At the surface, oxygen wins. This leaves a tacky, under-cured layer with lower hardness and more unreacted monomer.
Nitro replaces the air in the chamber with nitrogen. Parts come out with a clean, tack-free surface, so you don’t need extra cleaning or glycerine barriers. Published studies link nitrogen post-curing to a higher degree of conversion, harder surfaces, better colour stability and lower cytotoxicity.
No more gas cylinders
Labs that cure under nitrogen today usually rely on high-pressure bottles. Bottles run out mid-batch, need deliveries and storage, and add rental and gas costs. Nitro gives you a continuous supply on demand. Running costs are electricity and periodic filter changes.
One station, one bench space
Nitro shares the PRODEX 53 footprint and sits directly underneath it, so a complete nitrogen post-curing station fits in a single bench space. Installation takes one air hose, one nitrogen hose and one power cable.
Made for parts that go in the mouth and the ear
- Crowns and bridges: better colour stability
- Dentures: higher conversion and a harder surface
- Splints and aligners: tack-free and clear
- Hearing shells: biocompatible in-ear parts
Nitro debuts with PRODEX 53 at IDS 2027 in Cologne, March 16–20.
